Scalable Matrix Switcher
VideoBloXis designed for maximum expandability. User can create systems with
up to 4080inputs and 256 outputs by interconnectingmultple racks. 32-way
twisted ribbon cables allow for simple, high density interconnections.
VideoBloX Chassis (HVB2U/4UX/8UX/12UX/16UX)
VideoBloXis housed in an industry standard 19"rack mountable chassis. Various
chassis heights are available to allow for different sized systems. The number of
modules which maybe fitted is shown in the following table:

VideoBloXmodules are mounted from the front of the chassis. The modules are
fitted horizontally to allow for vertical system expansion. All modules (except the
power supply module) are position independent. Modules are "hotswappable"and
maybe removed and reinserted with the power on. The power supply module is
fitted vertically beside the other modules.
CPU Modules (HVBCPUX/HVBNETCPU/HV BARB/
HVBLITEX)
A VideoBloXsystem is controlled from a single master CPU module (HVBCPUX).
For an expanded system, with multiple chassis, it is possible to interconnect the
chassis and have a single CPU module control the entire system. All system
configuration is carried outby means of a PC running Windows 95/98/NT/
2000, which connects to the CPU module. Once configuration is complete, the PC
may optionally be detached or used as a system activity logger. All configuration
information is stored in non-volatile memory and is retained during a power loss of
at least one month.
It is possible to install multiple CPU modules into a single rack. Should this bea
requirement then an additional CPU arbitration module (HV BARB) must be
installed. The arbitration module re-routes the major CPU communications
channels to the configuration PC and the field. Ifa CPU failure is detected by the
arbitration module, the system can automatically switch over to the backup CPU.
VideoBloX Lite (HVBLITEX) matrix switchers provide a powerful series of solutions
for medium scale CCTV systems from 16 video inputs into eight monitor outputs
up to 96camera inputs into eight monitor outputs. Should the system outgrow the
96x8 capacity of VideoBloX Lite the integration into a larger VideoBloXsystem is
straightforward, saving engineering time and ensuring that no control equipment
is left redundant. VideoBloX Lite is actually a smaller scale version of VideoBloX;
nevertheless it possesses just as much power.

DATA PORT EXPANDER/REPEATER (HVB422C4/FT8/FT16)
HVS videorangeof Data Repeaters make expanding a system easy without sacrificing
reliability or equipment response time. The RS422 data repeater regenerates/
combines multipleRS422 lines into a single RS422 line. This gives operators the
ability to implement larger systems using cables that exceed the typical 4000 foot (1200
meter) RS422 specification. With the Data Repeater, systems can exceed the specified
32 devices. Cascading the units allows users to implement very large systems.
The8-channel (HVB422FT8) and 16-channel (HVB422FT16) fault tolerant versions
provide the following additional features:
•Automatically detect certain types of fault conditions on the receive data, indicate the
fault condition and prevent these lines from interfering with the remainder of the system.
•High capacity power supply. Each channel is individually protected with a resettable
fuse.
Honeywell Video System(HVS) offers the technology fora truly integrated system.
Choose the equipment right for your installation without restriction, because the PIT
provides control of other manufacturer'sequipment. Configure the PIT to control all HVS built
domes, multiplexer, VCRsandDVRs. The PIT also allows for control of other manufacturer'sdomes.
Powerful VideoBloX configuration software allows for control of RS422 and RS232 equipment, such
asVCRs, DVRsand multiplexers. All it takes is the PIT and a simple selection of DIP switches.
Choose from three PIT products:
•HVBPIT422: Converts the RS422 VideoBloXinput protocol, to compatible third-party PTZ/Dome
RS422 protocolincl. Pelco"D"&"P", Burle, Diamond, Panasonic, etc.
•HVBPIT232: Converts the RS422 VideoBloXinput protocol toconfigurable serial RS232 control
compatible with third-party VCRs/MUX/DVRs, etc.
•HVBPIT232I: As above, including integral optical isolation on the RS232 serial output.
Configurable ASCII strings to control virtually any seriallycontollable product.
•HVBPIT232-232: Converts the RS232 VideoBloXinput protocol toconfigurable serial RS232 control
compatible with 3rdparty VCRs/MUX, DVRs, etc.
DATA CONVERTOR (HVB232485)
The HVB232485 unit converts RS232 data to RS485/422 data and additionally provides optical
isolation between the communication lines. This allows for extending RS232 links and also conversion
of the signals as required. Changeover switches can configure the RS422 as a Master or Slave port,
while the RS232 maybe switched to allow direct connection to a PC or to the RS232 port of HVS
products. It can extend RS232 links to 1200m.

VCR CONTROL
HVS 16channelMVT makes adding text toon-screen video images simple. With the
MVT, users can superimpose date and time, as well as program individual titles on
each video input. Triple outputs allow for connection toa VCR and matrix switcher.
Each input has:
•Videoloss detection.
•Adjustable gain.
•Termination jumper.
•High frequency compensation jumper.
•16 ChannelIRVCR control, with optional record monitoring.
•Optional rack control keyboard.
An RS422auxiliary port allows for third-party developers to generate additional text
on each of the 16 outputs.
Integrate text display into your system using the HVBSVTX. Serial data is
received via the RS232 interface, allowing text to be superimposed on a video
signal. Switch selectable for ANSI.SYS, a scrolling display, or interface to other
manufacturer'sequipment. A switch selectable timeout allows for automatically
clearing the display if no serial message is received within the timeout period.
